Football
The Washington State football team scored its first Pacific-10 Conference win with a 27-7 victory over UCLA in Martin Stadium. The Cougars' overall record is 3-5 with a 1-4 conference standing.

  • Dwight Tardy rushed for a career-best 214 yards, including two touchdowns and a 51-yard scoring run in the final seconds of the game.
  • The Cougars piled up 545 offensive yards while limiting the Bruins to 267 yards.
  • Romeen Abdollmohammadi 41-yard field goal in the first quarter was a career best for the WSU kicker.
Soccer
The WSU soccer team played in Cougarland over the weekend, battling Oregon to a 1-1 tie and scoring a 2-1 victory over Oregon State. The Cougars are now 10-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in the Pac-10.
  • Allison Scurich punched in the game winner against Oregon State on a penalty kick.
  • Brooke Bemis tallied a goal in each match for a season total of eight goals.
  • The weekend of soccer stretched WSU's unbeaten streak at home to six matches dating back to last season.
Volleyball
The Cougars couldn't contain No. 4 Washington as the Huskies scored a 30-25, 30-21, 30-24 victory over WSU. The Cougars are 9-15 overall and 0-10 in the Pac-10.
  • Jackie Albright posted a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.
  • Tara West had a career-high and match-high 10 blocks.
  • The match against the Dawgs was the fifth consecutive top-10 team the Cougars have faced in the past three weeks.
Cross Country
The Washington State cross country squads competed at the Pac-10 Championships. The women placed fifth with 136 points. The men placed seventh with 166 points, edged out by Washington in sixth with 162 points.
  • Isley Gonzalez led the Cougars with an eighth-place finish (20:26.6) and earning First Team All-Pac 10 honors.
  • Andrew Jones was the top finisher for the men in 23rd (23:42.4).
  • No. 1 Stanford won the women's team race (48 points), and No. 1 Oregon won the men's team title (39 points).
Swimming
The WSU swim team came out on top in a dual meet against San Jose State, winning 170.5-81.5 to open the Cougars' season 2-0.
  • The Cougars won 11 of 14 events.
  • Elyse Peterson and Michaela Ahlin each earned two individual victories and a relay win apiece.
  • Freshman Sierra Burton and Rugile Mileisyte cracked the WSU all-time top-10 list with Burton sitting sixth in 200 freestyle and eighth in 100 freestyle and Mileisyte at ninth in the 100 backstroke.
Rowing
The Cougars won the Head of the Snake, beating Gonzaga for the second consecutive week. The women's varsity eight finished the 5,000-meter course in 20:22.49 followed by the second varsity eight in 20:29.75.
