Football
In Saturday's match-up with Idaho, Washington State earned the 45-28 victory. It was the 90th meeting for the two teams and the win bumped WSU's series lead to 70-17-3. The Cougars are now 2-1 on the season as they head into conference play.
- Quarterback Alex Brink completed 26 of 36 passes and became the career leader in pass completions with 624.
- Receiver Michael Bumpus caught eight passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
- Running back Dwight Tardy rushed for 108 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Women's Soccer
The women's soccer team competed at the Notre Dame Inn at Saint Mary's Classic over the weekend and came away with two victories. The win lifts WSU to 4-0-1 on the season.
- The Cougars pulled off the 1-0 upset win over No. 16 Oklahoma State on Friday. Redshirt freshman Mallory Fox scored the game-winning goal early in the match and senior goalkeeper Brynn Bemis made seven saves in the victory.
- On Sunday, the Cougars prevailed over Princeton in a 2-1 double overtime win. Sophomore Kiersten Dallstream scored both goals for WSU and earned her first career game-winner.
- Dallstream, Bemis, Fox and senior Natalie Elkind were named to the all-tournament team. Bemis also earned the tournament's goalkeeper and defensive most valuable player awards.
Volleyball
The WSU volleyball team traveled to Denver to compete in the Pioneer Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Cougars tallied three losses in the tournament to drop their record to 9-5 as they prepare for conference play this upcoming weekend.
- Senior Adetokunbo Faleti had a match-high 14 kills against No. 17 Ohio but the Cougars lost in three games (30-24, 30-23, 30-23).
- WSU took the first game from Long Beach State, the first time the Cougars have ever taken a game from the 49ers. However, Long Beach State took the next three games to win in four (27-30, 30-25, 32-30, 30-22). Faleti had a season-high 19 kills.
- In the third match of the tournament, Denver took another three-game decision from WSU (30-22, 30-23, 30-21). Sophomore Kelly Hyder was named to the all-tournament team and Long Beach State won the team title.
Cross Country
The WSU men's and women's cross country squads traveled to Seattle to compete in the Sundodger Invitational.
- Senior Andrew Jones paced the Cougars with a third place showing, finishing the 8,000 meter course in 24:02. The Cougars placed second as a team with 52 points, trailing Washington's first place 31-point win. The other four Cougar runners placed in the 21.
- The women finished eighth out of an eight team field with 180 points. Sophomore Lisa Egami was the highest WSU finisher with a 26th place showing in a time of 22:10 for the 6,000 meter course.
