Milford Hodge works as the coordinator for Minority Student-Athlete Mentoring. In this position, Milford works to provide a positive and supportive relationship with minority student athletes to facilitate their educational, social and personal growth.

Milford earned his Bachelor of Social Science degree in Sociology, December 1992, and a Master's degree in Education Administration, December 1995, from Washington State University. While at WSU, he played on the football team from 1980-1985. He earned three varsity letters (1982-84), started at nose guard for the cougars and was named WSU's outstanding defensive linemen of the year. In addition, Milford was named All-Pacific-10 honorable mention. When his college career was over, he was drafted into the National Football League in the seventh round to the New England Patriots and played from 1985-89. In 1990 he was traded to the Washington Redskins. He played for the San Francisco 49ers in 1991 and the London Monarchs of the World League in 1992. The experience and dedication gained from playing college football and then going on to play in the NFL for seven years is invaluable.

Milford retired from the National Football League October 1992 and returned to WSU to complete his undergraduate degree and enter Graduate school. While in Graduate School he became a graduate assistant defensive line coach. In 1994, when he received his Master's degree he made the switch from coach to academic counselor.

Milford takes pride in working with student-athletes to help their transition from sports to society. By interacting with student-athletes everyday Milford has a chance to get to know them while helping them pursue their degrees and careers during their time at Washington State University.

Milford was raised in South San Francisco, California, but now his mother, sister, and three brothers reside in Hayward, California. His father dwells in Pomona, California. Milford and his wife Diane have three children: Whitney, Jaron, and Dannielle. He and his family are active members of the Calvary Christian Center. He enjoys living in Pullman after his years in the NFL traveling and living all over the United States and Europe. Being part of the Cougar Family and helping student-athletes transition from sports to society is great.
