Cougars Begin Pac-10 Track Championships in Tempe Washington State University will be represented by two heptathletes and one decathlete at the Pacific-10 Conference Combined Events Championships, Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, at Arizona State University's Joe Selleh Track at Sun Angel Stadium...freshmen Angela Jensen and Jalissa Williams are WSU women competing in the heptathlon...senior Rickey Moody will compete in the decathlon...a limited number of competitors from the Cougars track and field teams will also be running, jumping and throwing at the Vandal Jamboree, May 9-10 at Moscow, Idaho. Nationally-Ranked Prep Runners Commit to Join WSU Track Teams Joe Abbott, a nationally-ranked middle distance runner from Reno, Nev., Brittnay Crabb, a nationally-ranked hurdler from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Jacki Hill, an outstanding sprinter from Bremerton, Wash., have signed National Letters of Intent to attend and compete for the Washington State University track and field teams, Cougars track and field head coach Rick Sloan announced Monday. Cougars Sweep Huskies in Track & Field Dual Meet The WSU men defeated Washington 93-70, for their first victory in four years, while the Cougar women continued their dominance in the dual competition against the Huskies with a 116-47 win, making it 11 wins in the last 12 dual meets contested. The temperature was in the low 60-degrees with high clouds and a slight breeze and waves of new WSU graduates streamed past the track throughout the day. WSU vs. UW Dual Meet Heat Sheets WSU vs. UW Dual Meet Heat Sheets Cougars Versus Huskies in Track & Field Dual Meet Saturday The Washington State versus Washington Dual Meet takes place Saturday in Pullman...97th edition for the men's teams and the 33rd meeting for the women's teams...scoring will be 5 points for first place, 3 points for second place and 1 point for third place...the winning relay team will get all 5 points with none awarded for second place...according to WSU records, the WSU men hold the advantage in the dual series with a 60-35-1 record...UW women have an 19-13 lead in the dual dueling, but the Cougar women have won 10 of the past 11 meetings. Cougar Invitational Track Meet Produces Records and Improved Marks Track and field competitors from Washington State University won 17 of the 37 events contested at the Ninth Annual Cougar Invitational Track & Field Meet held at Mooberry Track Saturday in Pullman.
