Falkenborg's homer in the sixth gave the Cougars another short-lived lead, as UC Irvine knotted the score at two in the bottom of the eighth.
WSU took the lead for good with a two-run ninth. With two outs, Jon Baeder doubled to right centerfield and scored when the next batter, Robert Stahlke, singled. Miller followed with a single to right centerfield, scoring Zapper McGrath, who pinch-ran for Stahlke.
Kenyon allowed one hit in the ninth, but quickly ended the Anteater threat, getting the final two outs on routine fly-outs to nail down the win.
