May 28, 2008

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State senior Jayson Miller was named the Pacific-10 Conference Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year for baseball, Wednesday.

In 2008, Miller was 8-1 for the Cougars on the mound with a 4.06 earned run average. He struck out 74 and walked 17 in 99 and two-thirds innings. He pitched at least six innings in each of his 14 starts. Earlier this month, he was named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First Team All-Academic District VIII. He carried a 3.69 GPA in accounting.
