A graduate of American School, where he earned three letters each in both football and track and two letters in basketball...earned first team all-league honors on both offense and defense as a junior and senior...named all-area by the Skagit Valley Herald, the Everett Times and the Seattle Times...earned all-State honors on offense as a junior...named all-State on both offense and defense as a senior, leading his squad to the State championship...team captain for both football and track teams as a senior...coached in football by Dave Ward, in basketball by Coach Schulle and in track by Jay Turner.
