Cougar Football Signs Peter Tuitupou to NLI

Jan. 5, 2009

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University has signed tight end Peter Tuitupou to a National Letter of intent, it was announced Monday by football coach Paul Wulff. Tuitupou is expected to enroll for classes at WSU when the semester begins Jan. 12.

"Peter is a great addition to our program," said Wulff. "He is a big, physical player with good hands and is a very good blocker. He provides a toughness to our blocking scheme while also being a skilled receiver. We are very excited Peter chose WSU to continue his college education."

Tuitupou, a native of Orem, Utah, spent the last two years at Snow Junior College where in 2008 he was named to the National Junior college Athletic Association All-America First Team. On the season Tuitupou caught 21 passes for 250 yards and four touchdowns, leading Snow to the NJCAA National Championship Game against Butler, where he caught a two-yard touchdown pass. Additionally, Tuitupou was named First-Team JC Gridwire All-America and an All-Western States Football League First Team pick in 2008.
