Cougar Game against Oregon Picked Up by FSN Northwest
Aug. 7, 2008
PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University and FSN Northwest announced today that an agreement has been reached to televise the Cougars' Sept. 27 football home game against Oregon, WSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk announced today. The Oregon contest, which will be WSU's Homecoming game, is set for a 3:15 p.m. start.
WSU's first five contests of the 2008 campaign, and seven total for the season, have now been selected for television, including the Cougars' season-opener against Oklahoma State (Aug. 30) at Qwest Field in Seattle. The Cougar Gridiron Classic, presented by Washington's Beef Producers with a kickoff scheduled for 12:30 p.m., is the first of three games that will also be available in high definition on FSN HD. The other two games include the USC contest, Oct. 18, which is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start, and the annual Apple Cup against Washington, Nov. 22, with a noon start from Pullman.
In addition to the Oregon game, FSN Northwest will also televise the game against California, Sept. 6, which is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff. The lone televised road contest at this point comes when the Cougars travel to Waco, Texas to face Baylor, Sept. 13. That game will also be televised by FSN with an 11:30 a.m. local (9:30 a.m. PT) start.
Both ABC and FSN will select additional games during the course of the 2008 season, with announcements made six or 12 days in advance of the games.
Prior to the 2007 season, the Cougars had five games selected for national or regional television. Following six- and 12-day selections throughout the year, WSU ended the season with 10 of its 12 games being televised.
Season tickets, along with tickets for the Cougar Gridiron Classic, are currently on sale. Tickets are available online at www.wsucougars.com or by phone at 1-800-GO-COUGS. Tickets to the Cougar Gridiron classic are also available through all Ticketmaster outlets.
