Coaching Clinic Draws Daugherty Family

May 8, 2007

PULLMAN, Wash. -- - Washington State University women's basketball coaches June Daugherty and Mike Daugherty will participate in the North Central Washington Coaches Clinic May 19-20, 2007. The clinic will be staged at Wenatchee High School.

June Daugherty, who was named WSU's head coach April 20, is an 18-year head coach veteran of Pacific Northwest basketball. The former Ohio State University All-America player and Wade Trophy finalist in 1978 spent seven years resurrecting the Boise State University program and then 11 years at the University of Washington, where her Husky teams qualified for six NCAA tournament appearances and three Women's NIT tournaments.

Mike Daugherty, who was named Ohio State's defensive player of the year in 1976 and later played in the South American Professional League, is WSU's associate coach. He served as an assistant coach at Boise State and then was Washington's offensive coordinator and director for player development.
