Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Giustina Memorial

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Washington State women's golf team finished in fifth place at the Giustina Memorial Classic at the 6,282-yard, par-72, Trysting Tree Golf Club Tuesday, led by three Cougars who finished in the top 25.

Senior Amy Eneroth shot a 233 (+17) for the tournament, putting her in a tie for 13th. Fellow senior Jessica Black and freshman Lauren Howell both finished with a tie for 19th, carding an 234 (+18).

"There were very difficult pin locations and a lot of three-putts, and even several four-putts were the results," said Head Coach Walt Williams.

Junior Mandy Parsons finished just shy of another top 25 finish for WSU, she ended the tournament in a tie for 28th. Freshman Kristen Allard was the final Cougar, posting a three-round total of 243 (+27), finishing in a tie for 34th.

WSU finished fifth in both the women's team and combined team scores. The women shot 935 and combined with the men to shoot 1794.

The Cougar women will have next week off. Their next tournament will be Ihlanfeldt Husky Invitational, Oct. 6-8, in Seattle, Wash.
