
Freshmen Lead Cougars at Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Washington State women's golf team is in a tie for eighth after the first round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate, held at the par-72, 5,931-yard Oak Point Golf Club.
The women carded a first-round total of 306 (+18), putting them seven strokes behind tournament leader East Tennessee State.
Freshman Andrea Rosete knocked in four birdies on her way to a season-low score of 75 (+3). The finish was good enough to put her in a tie for 15th going into the final round. Fellow freshman Kristen Allard posted a score of 76 (+4) and is tied for 23rd after the first round. Lauren Howell tallied a 77 (+5) and sits just outside the top 25 in a tie for 31st.
Close behind are seniors Amy Eneroth and Jessica Black. Eneroth finished in a tie for 39th with a first-round score of 78 (+5). Black posted a 79 (+6) and is currently in a tie for 46th.
