Former Cougar Welch Looking For Big Break

April 25, 2008

Ka'anapali, HAWAII - Former Washington State All-American Kim Welch is competing on the Golf Channel's reality show "Big Break: Ka'anapali" at the Ka'anapali Resort.

Welch, WSU's only four-time All-Pacific-10 Conference honoree and an All-America selection in both 2003 and 2004, is competing with 11 other golfers for an exemption into an LPGA Tour event and entry fees to all 2009 Duramed FUTURES Tour tournaments.

This past season Welch finished 21st on the FUTURES Tour's money list and made it to the finals of the LPGA Tour Qualifying tournament.

Welch is the second Cougar to compete on the television show, as Tasha Browner competed on The Big Break III.

Check the Golf Channel for air times.
