WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Five Washington State University women's soccer student-athletes earned All-Pacific-10 Conference honors, conference commissioner Tom Hansen announced, Thursday.
Junior forward Kiersten Dallstream and sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Parlee earned second team honors, while junior midfielder Carly Dobratz, freshman defender Ali Fenter and junior forward Elysse Van Leer received honorable mention. Fenter was also named to the All-Pac-10 Freshman Team.
"It is great to have players honored for the work they have put in," Cougar Head Coach Matt Potter said. "I am sure they would be the first to give credit to their teammates, but it is nice to receive recognition from the other Pac-10 coaches. The multiple honors speak to the depth of our team."
Dallstream leads the Cougars with five assists this season and earned her second conference honor after being selected to the first team in 2007. She is currently with the United States Under-20 national team.
Parlee concluded the regular season with three-straight shutouts and ranks on the Cougar single-season lists in wins (T-fourth-10), saves (sevevnth-95, solo shutouts (T-seventh, 7) and minutes (eighth-1,664). She enters the NCAA Championship with a 0.92 goals against average.
Dobratz picked up a conference accolade for the third-straight season. She was a second team honoree in 2006 and received honorable mention last season. She has six goals, including three game-winners, and a pair of assists in 2008.
Fenter anchors a Cougar backline that is giving up less than one goal per match (0.95) this season. She also contributed to the WSU offense with two goals.
Van Leer leads WSU with seven goals in 2008. Her four game-winners are tied for fourth in the Pac-10 this season and tied for fourth on the Cougar single-season list.
