Cougar Swimmer Takes Part in Opening Ceremony at Beijing Olympics

BEIJING, China - Washington State University swimmer Rugile Mileisyte participated in the Parade of Athletes during the opening ceremony at the 2008 Olympics, Friday.

Mileisyte is one of 69 Lithuanians (43 men, 26 women) taking part in this year's Olympics. She will swim in the 50-meter freestyle, Aug. 15.

The Lithuanian flag was carried by Sarunas Jasikevicius, a member of the nation's men's basketball team. There are 204 delegations represented at the Olympics in Beijing.
