What is a Sports Pass?
2008-09 Sports Pass (undergraduate student): $129
2008-09 Sports Pass (graduate student): $175
The Student Sports Pass is an ACADEMIC YEAR pass which allows admittance to all regular season home events in Football, Women's Volleyball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, and Baseball from August through May, based on student section seating availability. The Sports Pass is embedded into the magnetic stripe on your student ID card once it is purchased, and you swipe your ID card at the Student Entrance to gain admission to home events. The Sports Pass also includes "home" WSU Football games at Qwest Field in Seattle and any "home" Men's Basketball games at Spokane Arena or at Key Arena in Seattle. Tickets for these home games at venues outside of Pullman usually require ticket pickup in advance of game day. Your sports pass also does not include admittance to any NCAA or Pac-10 championship events. For any further questions about your Student Sports Pass, contact the Cougar Athletic Ticket Office at 509-335-9626.
The approximate value if all student tickets were purchased separately: >$300.
Purchasing an All-Academic Year Sports Pass
A WSU student can purchase a Sports Pass in only two ways:
1. When you initially register for your classes online at www.my.wsu.edu, check the appropriate box and it will be charged to your student account.
2. After registration, students can still purchase a Sports Pass at www.my.wsu.edu. Simply click on the "Finances" tab, and scroll to the bottom of the page. Use the "Buy Sports Pass" link under "Optional Purchases at WSU Pullman". Once purchased, the sports pass will be read off of the magnetic stripe on your student ID card when you attend the next WSU athletic event.
Refund Information
Once a Sports Pass is purchased, all requests for refunds MUST be made in person through the Athletic Ticket Office, located in the Visitor's Center at N. 225 Grand Avenue in downtown Pullman. A full refund will be provided upon request through September 26th, ONLY if the sports pass has not yet been used for admission to a WSU sporting event. Sports passes purchased in the spring term will be eligible for refunds until January 30th, also only if the sports pass has not yet been used for admission to a WSU sporting event. Students have no online ability to uncheck their initial "Yes" selection.
Student Seating at Athletic Events
Football
The student section in Martin Stadium is located on the North and West side only. There are approximately 12,500 seats available to students, EXCEPT FOR THE APPLE CUP. The West End Zone is NOT student seating for the Apple Cup. Gates open two hours prior to game time. In order to be seated on the North student side we suggest that you arrive as early as possible. There is typically a line at the student entrance well before the student gates open for students who are attempting to secure the seats closest to the 50-yard line.
Men's Basketball
The student section in Beasley Coliseum is located on the North and East side only. There are approximately 5,300 seats available to students, first-come, first-served. Doors open 90 minutes prior to game time. Members of the Student Cheering Section, or "ZZU CRU", are allowed admission 30 minutes prior to the general public for the best courtside seating. If you have questions about club membership, please contact the Athletic Marketing Office at 509-335-0214.
Other Varsity Sports
Volleyball, Women's Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Men's and Women's Track and Field and Rowing all have general admission student seating. Doors open one hour before events.
Football Student Tickets
Students can purchase four (4) Student Tickets or Student Guest Tickets per home football game, except for the Apple Cup. Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets are general admission, and are limited to the Student Section (north side and west end zone of Martin Stadium).
ADVANCE FOOTBALL SALES:
Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets are available online at www.wsucougars.com beginning Saturday, August 23 at 12:15 p.m. Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets will not be on sale prior to this online sale. Tickets will need to be paid for online, and picked up at the WSU Ticket Office no earlier than Wednesday, August 27 at 8 a.m. Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets purchased online at least two days prior to the game will be discounted by $10 compared to tickets purchased the day before a game or the day of a game (except Dad's Weekend). These tickets must be picked up by the person whose student ID was used to purchase the tickets.
DAY-BEFORE/DAY-OF-GAME FOOTBALL SALES
Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets are also available at the WSU Ticket Office the day prior to home games and at the northwest corner of Martin Stadium (Gate J ticket booth) on game day. The Gate J ticket booth at Martin Stadium will open two hours prior to game time, and will remain open until halftime. These tickets will be full-price tickets, compared to tickets purchased in advance online at www.wsucougars.com.
Men's Basketball Student Tickets
General admission Student Tickets and Student Guest Tickets are available to any student with a valid WSU Student ID for $10. Tickets can be purchased during the week of home games in person at the WSU Ticket Office, located inside the WSU Visitor's Center at N. 225 Grand Ave. On game days, student tickets can be purchased outside Beasley Coliseum at the Section 5 student ticket window (at the Beasley side of the footbridge crossing Stadium Way), starting 90 minutes prior to tipoff, unless tickets have sold out prior to game day. Students can purchase 2-4 tickets for most home games, though the WSU Athletic Department reserves the right to restrict sales beyond Sports Pass holders if Sports Pass holder attendance is expected to exceed the student seating capacity. These tickets can be used by non-WSU students as long as they are purchased by WSU students.
Reserved Seating Options
FOOTBALL
Reserved seats are located on the South, East and NE sides of Martin Stadium. If students wish to sit in the Reserved section they must buy a Reserved section ticket for themselves.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
All Beasley Coliseum seating outside of the student section is reserved, and tickets can be purchased in advance or at the game. Students who are interested in having a guest sit with them in the student section should purchase Student Guest Tickets for the student section.
OTHER VARSITY SPORTS
At Volleyball, Women's Basketball and Baseball, student seating is general admission. Pre-sold tickets in reserved seats are also available through the WSU Ticket Office. There is no charge for Swimming, Rowing, Tennis, Golf, Men's and Women's Track and Field and Soccer.
Mom's Weekend
Your mom/parents won't want to miss a sensational weekend of Cougar Athletics during their visit to Pullman in April. WSU will traditionally host a Pac-10 Baseball series all weekend long, and there is no limit on the number of tickets you may purchase. Also look for a football spring scrimmage and possibly a soccer exhibition game, both free of charge.
Apple Cup Tickets
When the Apple Cup is held in Pullman, as it is in 2008, only students with a Sports Pass are admitted into the game at no additional charge. There are NO STUDENT GUEST TICKETS sold for the Apple Cup in Pullman, and the student seating section is limited to the North side of Martin Stadium. The West end zone is sold as reserved seating to the general public.
When the Apple Cup is held in Seattle, student tickets are sold online on a first-come, first-served basis to Sports Pass holders ONLY. WSU has typically been allotted 800 student tickets to sell for that game. The online sale happens in early-to-mid-October, with advertisements in the Daily Evergreen confirming the date and time. All student ticket sales for the Apple Cup are final. No refunds are issued.
Seattle Football Game Tickets
Students with a Sports Pass can receive tickets to this year's football game at Qwest Field in Seattle vs. Oklahoma State on a first-come, first-served basis, at no additional charge, until all student tickets have been allocated. Tickets for the Seattle game are general admission within a designated student section area (Sections 121-132) at Qwest Field. Those tickets will be distributed to students with a Student ID card starting Wednesday, August 27th, at a time and location to be determined. Look for details in the Daily Evergreen in the first week of the fall term. There is a limit of one complimentary (1) ticket per student with a Sports Pass. Up to four Student or Student Guest tickets can also be purchased at that time, regardless of whether the student owns a Sports Pass or not. Those tickets will cost $22 (which includes a $5 Facility Fee) and are also general admission within the same designated student sections. If student tickets remain after the August 27th distribution, they will be available at the WSU Ticket Office located inside the WSU Visitor's Center (N. 225 Grand Ave.) until the student section allotment is completely distributed.
Spokane/Seattle Basketball Game Tickets
Students with a Sports Pass are admitted into the men's basketball games in Spokane and Seattle at no additional charge by presenting their valid Student ID on game day. Guest tickets for students will go on sale on a date announced in the Evergreen (subject to availability). There is a limit of 4 guest passes per student.
Postseason Championships
In the event WSU participates in any postseason competition, student tickets are limited and available to those students who have a current Sports Pass. All necessary information will be published in the Evergreen.
